Web Wednesday

Web Wednesday is back for ya! Today, I have a site that I used for awhile, stopped and will now try to start it again. It's the Flylady site. http://www.flylady.net/ My dear friend Anne told me about it. There are many functions to this site, but my favorite part is the daily cleaning zones. Everyday you have a certain area of your house to clean. It usually only takes 15 min. Here's an example from todays "to do chore":

Dear Friends:What a fun and exciting mission that I have for you today? LOL! Let's take a close look at the gadgets and small appliances. The toaster, can opener, coffee maker, microwave etc. The small appliances that you use on a regular basis. When was the last time you cleaned out your toaster; opened up the bottom and dumped the crumbs? How dingy or dusty is your coffee maker? Do we even want to talk about the blades on the electric can openers? How about the outside of the microwave? Wipe them down and make them shine. I am not telling you to drag out every small kitchen appliance you own and to scrub them. Just wipe down the fingerprints, dust, drips, dried food particles on the most used items. Make sure you unplug these items before you clean them! Don't obsess, set your timer for 15 minutes and have fun! Kelly

Tomorrow she'll have something else for me (you) to do. She sends it right to your email. After you read the site, I'd like to know how many of you will/ are going to fly with me. Just respond to this post or email me. I think I need the extra motivation of others "flying" with me!!!

Saying "See You Later"

This morning we said our goodbyes to Grandma & Steph. :( They had to leave a bit early, as there was bad rain in El Paso and they are expecting more. So, they wanted to get there without getting stuck in a flash flood or something like that.

So, now I'm back to task master! ;) The kids are cleaning, I'm cleaning and all of that good stuff.

Wet Tuesday

Just a quick note to you all. We have offically entered our "monsoon" season. Which is great. We have been getting some MUCH needed rain. Even as I type there's a nice steady rain outside. I should be getting back to my blog, hopefully daily again. Robert will drive Bea & Staph down tomorrow. We have had a great visit. The kids are sad. We really got to know Steph this visit. Great girl. Sweet personality. Anyway, hope you all have a great evening.

Three Rivers Adventure

Okay, you may be wondering why the pool pic if this is about three rivers. Well, read on. Grandma, the kids & I went to Three Rivers today. We made it all of the way to the wash (almost there). The area had gotten a bad rain storm earlier that morning, which we didn't know about. Anyway, we got stuck in the mud! We had the car. I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it, but my inner Rambo, blond or whatever you want to call it said to go for it! (I should have listened the voice of Robert in my head telling me what are you thinking!!) After trying to push out, calling Robert, I decided to walk up to the camp that was about a mile away. Thank God, on the way a rancher with a BIG truck (thank God for living in the west!) drove by. Here's the conversation:

He sees me walking, "You didn't try to drive your small car through the mud."

Me, totally thinking "I know, I know!", "Yes, Do you think you could help me pull it out?"

"I'll see what I can do. Get in." After getting in, he asks, "Where're you from?"

Me, I almost laughed out loud, "Here, that makes it all the worse."

"No...you aren't the first."

I'll cut some of the details out here. The rancher looked at our car and said he had to go get the chain, and was glad to see that we had a hitch under the car. He's done this many times, and said that most cars don't have anything to hitch to. So when he pulls out some cars, he's pulled off the bumper. He runs the ranch (85 sq. acres) there and was right back with the chain. He pulled me right out. Thank God. They were really nice folks.

He told us to check out the church right there. He said there wasn't that much mud, that her knew of. So, we turned around to go to the church. Just a bit up the road stood a big Momma cow. So, I stopped. She was calling out to her baby. I saw a baby the other way. I at first thought I was in between her and her baby. But her calf was behind her a ways. After waiting for two mamas and two calves go by, we proceeded up a hill and down. Then we saw more mud. It was not nearly as bad but I was not about to be dumb twice. So we turned around and headed home. Hence the pool pictures! And to top it all of I left my camera at home. It would've been great to have pictures of all of this!!!! hahaha!

We're back!

Phew, we're back from Carlsbad. We left Monday morning & got back a few hours ago. What a good time. The caverns were awesome. God is awesome. It was a misty, wet day. We were in a cloud when we went in & the sun was out when we came out. Went went down the natural enterance and Bea & I are still feeling it. It's almost all down hill for a mile (seemed like longer!), 20% grade at some points. At one point we passed a ranger & asked if we were almost there. He chuckled and said "You're not even half way." WHAT!!! We made it and are glad we took that way. Jared, Robert & I walked aroung most of the cavern inside. The ladies sat a bit & waited for us at the top. We were able to look around White's City & then Artesia a bit. It was a good trip overall. Tomorrow, Robert's taking the kids shooting and then everyone may go to Three Rivers. The forests are opening tomorrow! I'm staying home to catch up on things.

Sunday, sunday...

It's late Sunday night. Had a BUSY weekend. As you know, we have company and then our pastor's wife went into labor Friday night. We got a call @ 4:ooam Sat, so I went to their house to watch their boys. At 4:40am their baby girl (yeah!) was born. We brought the boys to our house after they woke up. They stayed the night and we even took them to church. They were really good. It was nice for Jared to have a boy to play with. Can't wait to see the baby.

Sat. night we had a concert at the Plateau. Let me tell you... windy doesn't even begin to describe the weather!!! The equipment was blowing over, we were trying not to blow over. And my eyes water like CRAZY in the wind! So I played half of the concert with my eyes closed. Honestly, it was the worst. Colleen took some pictures. I looked at them today (my eyes had cleared enough to see). After all of the weather, dry, dry eyes, etc. when I saw a guy that was a bit crazy in the beginning talking to someone from church, getting dealt with, when I saw a new convert witnessing, I felt much better! This is why we do what we do. For souls I will do it again.

Tomorrow we are up early to go to Carlsbad Caverns!!! We actually got rain today and their is rain in the forcast for the next few days! Thanks to our New Englanders for bringing the rain with them.

The pictures are clickable if you want to see them a bit better.

See you in a few days!

Some Pictures

Thought I'd post some pictures for you, so far. We went to Ruidoso and Cloudcroft today. Possibly White Sands tonight.

Hello

Everyone's busy at the moment, so I thought I'd write to all of my faithful fans! HAHAHA! Bea and Stephanie got here fine Wednesday night. Yesterday we pretty much just hung out. Robert took today and all of next week off. So we are going to go to the mountains, either Cloudcroft or Ruidoso. Tonight's outreach and tomorrow's the concert at the Plateau. We are playing. Well, I better go. Hopefully, I'll have more exciting things to write about after we actually do something! :) Have a good day!
