In the 20 years that hubby and I have been married a regular schedule has been one thing that has not been too regular.
Me, I like a schedule. Not a down-to-the-minute type schedule, just like to know what's going on at about what time each day.
I used to not be so good at handling schedule changes in hubby's work or our lives.
However, last night after driving (2 hours) hubby to work and then home (told that day he'd have this overtime) I began to think of how far I've come in being flexible with the changes.
His current job is pretty regular and that is nice.
Yet, they usually tell him very last minute when he needs to do overtime, go out of town, etc.
So, last night was nice hubby and I got to drive an hour by ourselves. (SO nice having older kids who can stay home.) Then I got to listen to two great radio shows on the way home by myself. God is good.
Okay, enough babbling. Have a great day!

Why I have been not blogging as much.
Wondering where I have been? Why I haven't been blogging as much?
Well, I am stepping back into digital scrapbook designing.
I have been trying to get my stuff all together, get a handful of kits done, etc.
Above is a sneek peek of my first release.
I will be guesting at The DigiChick in April.
I will let you all know my store link then!
Hopefully I can stay on and sell there. (so buy, buy, BUY!) ;)

compost story
About a week ago our son and I went through our compost and put it in the garden.
The newer stuff. Just so you know green onions actually grow in the composter! And avocado skins do not decompose.
My hard worker. It was FREEZING that day.
Dolly enjoying some of the fallen pieces. Gross!
Done. We went through almost all of it.
Had just enough to cover our garden.

World Down Syndrome Day
Today is World Down Syndrome Day 2012!
I have many words in my heart, but I will let these videos speak for themselves.
We are trying to do this one at home.
Go meet a person with down syndrome. Say "Hi!". You may just get a friend for life.

Today
Golly, you guys, You really liked the trapping/hunting post. Here I've been not posting. There will be more from where that came from.
Today:
is going to be another 80 degree day.
ladies are coming over to help go through our pecans. (I make them work for their nuts!)
filled out an application to volunteer at a local therapy center for special needs folks.
is Thursday, laundry.
one of the dogs threw up...big mess.
I am loving our clean windows.
I am a bit bugged my the cussing cooler people on my neighbors roof.
the story of King Solomon and the two ladies with the baby issue is really alive to me.

love and respect
remember i told you that our pastor gave these out at our valentine's dinner?
well, i want to give you an update.
i am going to be totally honest here.
reading another marriage book was a mixed bag for me.
i have read and read marriage books, with and without the desired results.
but i want the best for our marriage and what our pastor said was interesting.
the first couple of chapters where a struggle.
for me the concept of respect (biblical respect) is new to me.
while i thought i act pretty respectful, it was clear that i had my work cut our for me.
let me be clear that my hubby well deserves me respect, so anything i say does not diminish that.
for me, the type of respect that was being laid out for me in the book triggered thoughts/fears of being a doormat (covered in the book).
i did not/do not want to totally lay who i am down and be, how can i put this?, well, a doormat is just going to have to do.
the examples of people did these things were, almost too good to be true. like i'm thinking, not with me/him/our marriage.
the first chapters were frustrating me, so i jumped ahead in the book to the c-h-a-i-r-s chapters for the wives.
i figured if respecting your husbands is in the bible then i better learn what it is and how to do it.
*side note-there was much prayer being dome on my part for a heart to "get it".*
these chapters were more of a help.
God softened my heart as well.
i was still not too sure how to put this new respect thing into play, but i was willing to try.
then about a month later (i am still not done with the book yet) hubby starts reading it. (if it doesn't have a deer, elk, or food on the cover he is probably not going to read it.) after a few days we go out to "talk".
long story short, i can see a difference.
i am also SO glad that he is willing to work on our marriage too.
while i still have MUCH to learn and change my thinking/reacting on, i am encouraged.

Stromboli
Do you remember the spinach stromboli I had at the mall?
It was SOOO good, that I wanted to recreate it.
Well, how did it turn out? The kid's pepperoni ones turned out great, though son did salt the tops too much. Our spinach ones, were very bland. Will not make them that way again. I put tons of garlic and spices in too.

what's on your frig door/s?
While I like to keep the doors pretty clutter free, there are some regulars that hang out.
keeping the list up makes it easy for everyone to write needed items as they run out.
Yesterday when hubby came home our daughter said to him, "Did you see all of the kids Mom wants to adopt on the frig?" (While I don't "want" then all, I do have my picks.)
What's on your frig?
