Day 4 Parents

Interrupting this post to say it is COLD, but you more then likely knew that.
Our pipes are frozen.
It is -3 here this morning, which is record cold.
Too darn cold after such warm temps we've been having.
Oh, and our heater is broken.
I am suprised at how warm we have been, considering.

My mom and dad divorced when I was 6.
Though we lived the crazy life of a broken home, they both gave me two of the greatest gifts.
Especially my mom.
She was 19.  He was 18, just out of high school.
They got married when my mom was 4 months pregnant with me.
When they could've chosen another option, they chose life.
(These layouts tell the stories.  You can click on them to make them bigger if you need.)
They also gave introduced me to Jesus.  They second greatest gift.

5 things I learned from my mom:
1. How to clean, I mean really clean.
2. Always read your Bible.
3. Go to church all of the time.
4. You can forgive and be forgiven.
5. Hard work.

5 things I learned from my dad:
1. How to pack anything.  Nobody packs better.
2. How to hold conversations while driving for long periods of time.
3. To make BBQ sauce.
4. How to make the best big'ole bowl of ice cream.
5. To relax and enjoy people.

I can't leave out my step-mom, when telling you about my parents.  I was 14 when my dad married her.  At a time when I didn't "need" another mom, she was my friend and didn't try to take the place of my mom.

Last but not least is my grandma.  When our parents divorced we moved in with our grandparents.  My grandma taught me a lot.

I am blessed to have these great people in my life.

Thanks for reading and stay warm!
