I know that these don't compare to the fires in AZ., but this is like the 4th or 5th local fire, second in these mountains. This is what we saw in the way home from Sam's. I know some folks who had to go around the mountains to get home a whole 2 hours out of the way. This is the only way in and out.

The fire was right up to the road at some points.
I guess a semi cab caught fire. The whole thing was ashes.
I am guessing that the driver made it out ok.

It is sooo dry in your neck of the woods, isn't it? My sister is worried about when it finally rains-- she says the ground is so hard that it won't absorb.
